Welcome to my second adventure aboard the ms Noordam, the fourth ship of the Holland America Line to bear that proud name. This adventure begins in the Port of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where we will stay for a day before boarding our floating luxury liner for this trip to paradise. Our travels will take us to the Bahamas, St Thomas, the island of Dominica, where scenes from the Pirates of the Caribbean were filmed, to Curacao, then onto Aruba before returning to Ft Lauderdale. One of the things that will make this trip special is that it is Carol and my 15th Anniversary during the trip. So, we thought a cruise in which 3 of the 5 places we stop were places we had never been to would be fitting. It should be quite a trip! The format for this cruise blog is the same as our last adventure - that being a series of daily pages, to which one or more entries will be made. Breaking the blog into a smaller downloads seemed to work well for my father and his dial up modem, and there were no major complaints about the last blog, so we will stay with that format. Of course, that just means you, my dear reader, will just have to pay close attention because we may be talking about the previous day's events, or making reference to things that happened days ago, so it might get confusing. Okay, just listening to me ramble on could get confusing. But hey, the price is right for you to live vicariously with us and travel to paradise! By the way, Mr. Beecher says that if you have not read the accounts of our previous adventures, aboard the Norwegian Dawn and the ms Noordam, you probably should. He says that it might help clarify some things that you may find in these chronicles. You have been so advised! So, here is our itnerary for the voyage: Saturday, December 6 - Ft Lauderdale, Florida Sunday, December 7 - Fort Lauderdale, Florida Monday, December 8 - Half Moon Cay, Bahamas Tuesday, December 9 - At Sea Wednesday, December 10 - St Thomas, USVI Thursday, December 11 - Roseau, Dominica Friday, December 12 - At Sea Saturday, December 13 - Curacao, Netherlands Antilles Sunday, December 14 - Aruba Monday, December 15 - At Sea Tuesday, December 16 - At Sea Wednesday, December 17 - Fort Lauderdale, Florida Thursday, December 18 - Orlando, Florida Friday, December 19 - Orlando, Florida Saturday, December 20 - Orlando, Florida Sunday, December 21 - Orlando, Florida And here is an idea of where we are headed: When there is an entry for that day, the day and port will turn maroon, so you will know to visit.
