Good morning from sunny St Lucia, where the temperature is 77F under a hazy sun, and we are just making our way to the pier. Here is the morning view right after I got up this morning.
This was the view right before I got in the shower. I think of this as "Land Ho" even though we saw land before I took this shot!
And this was moments ago. Yes, that plane was revving its engines up for a takeoff. Today, we are off on a bus tour (I think) of the island, with a swim stop under a waterfall. Hey, I don't know - I didn't pick the tour! My mother did! Should be somewhat interesting, since I know practically nothing of St Lucia, other than the fact that there is a Sandals Resort here, and that honeymooning clients seem to love it. I'll let you know what I find out. Last night was a fun evening. Dinner was with Mike & Deb, and it turns out that Deb's birthday is tomorrow, so we are going to go to Murano (the specialty steak house) together to celebrate. Of course, she is all worried that we will tell the staff, and they will sing, and all that. We'll have to figure something else to do that will have the same effect. Anyway, dinner was another fine meal, then we went to the late show which featured a Vegas singer who played trumpet. He was really good, but it had the feel of an old Vegas act (I asked Carol if she thought that his tux was polyester). I tld Carol after a couple of songs that I'd bet $5 that he didn't sing a song released after the date I got my driver's liciense. Turns out I was wrong - he sang 2 that occurred after that time (actually, one was from Phantom of the Opera, and I am not sure exactly when that came out, but the other one was part of a medley from the 5 sexiest entertainers of all time list, so that got him singing La Vida Loca, which definitely is more current). But it really was a good show. Then we went back to the room and crashed. Apparently my mother had a nap this afternoon (and hadn't been grinding on a sailboat - hey, I'll use any excuse I have), so they went up to the pool deck (I forget what it is called here, but I am so used to thinking of it as the Lido Deck) for dancing under the stars. Haven't seen them yet this morning to see how that went. Probably run into them up at breakfast. So that pretty much is the update from here. I think we are tied up now (the vibration of the bow thrusters has ceased), so it is time to go get something to eat, and head out to the pier for the tour (technically its an early excursion). See you all later! Keep Smiling!!!
