0850 - Somewhere in an Airplane!

Okay, I have to admit, this being able to gain access to the internet and stuff in a plane is cool. For $10, I am almost wishing the flight were longer!

Here is what it looks like at 30,000 feet or so.

Of course, under all those clouds, this is what it looked like yesterday at my house:

As you might have guessed, we are looking forward to getting someplace a tad more friendly, weather-wise. Luckily, it trended a bit warmer, and has rained a bit, so the trip out (at 5am) to the airport was quite uneventful. Dropped the car off at the Park n Fly, got thru security only needed to be scanned twice (which is pretty good for me - somehow I must look suspicious), and got pretty much right on the plane. Of ocurse, we had the wrong gate on our boarding pass, so things could have been interesting! And the flight only left 10 minutes late.

These days, they have internet on the plane, which I love. For $10 you can surf the web til your battery dies out! So, on the flight (which I am still on), I have set up the blog (I am a little behind this trip), uploaded it, and now looking forward to trading some stock from the plane! Pretty neat.

My mother will be meeting us at the airport (thanks again for the very nice seat upgrade!), so I'll write more later. But the adventure has begun!!!!

8:55pm - the Villages

Greetings from sunny Florida! Of course, at the moment, back home it is 40F - here it is 42F!!!! Not much warmer, but at least it is not raining.

We met my mother and Joe (her husband) at the airport, and had a nice relaxed drive here to the Villages - located about an hour north of Orlando. The Villages is a huge senior community - Disney for Aldults is how Carol and I see it. Gorgeous facilities, more golf courses than you can shake a stick at, everything immaculate and pretty. One of the golf courses is a Nancy Lopez championship course (her first course design, as I understand it). There is a really nice restaurant there where we had lunch. Carol and my mother had Lobster Pizza - and it was reportedly quite good.

After heading to one of the community centers (we went to look at one of my mother's clay pieces - but they had been loaded into the kiln, and were being fired), we went to my mother's house, hung out, and relaxed quite a bit. I even got a nap in. It has been a really good day, and we are looking forward to going down to Ft Lauderdale and getting on that big ship!

So, we'll see you tomorrow after we get aboard!

Keep Smiling!!!

Your Intrepid Servant,
the Timethief Beachbum
